stuff like this always disturbs me. kids aren’t allowed to be kids anymore. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen girls under the age of 15 wearing mini skirts and heels, faces completely done up in makeup. i’ve even seen a 3 year old wearing thigh-highs and platform mary janes. i’m not even that old, and i remember girls growing up didn’t start wearing makeup until like 8th grade. to me, an 8 year old wearing makeup is ridiculous. we start sexualizing our children seemingly from birth now, at the same time telling them that sex is wrong and we try our hardest to keep from providing them with factual, unbiased information about their own bodies. we just keep cultivating these generations of progressively self-centered, undereducated, appearance-obsessed people, and it’s sad.
